I would like to formally submit my resignation.
I will say, however, that I am optimistic that we (as a couple) might be able to avoid many of the issues we've had in the past with maneuvering through the Holy Week, Easter, and Divine Mercy Sunday celebrations.
But now this leaves me wondering. If we are to have our own family Easter (which is the decision that would allow for us to retain peace throughout), what are some good ideas to help make it a special day and meaningful celebration/occasion for the kids? (We already color eggs and have egg fights, attend Mass, make a nice ham meal, relax as a family, but that's about it.) I'd really appreciate any other suggestions!

That's a tough one! We alternate years between our families(which is sort of stressful).
ReplyDeleteSounds like you already have some good things planned for the kids! I'd go with it! :)
One suggestion I have is to keep it simple, as the children will ALWAYS want to do the same thing year after year. In other words, don't set an expectation that you won't be able to live up to next year with 3 little ones, and who knows how many more in the future! :) You, the mommy, want to relax and enjoy Easter, too.
ReplyDeleteThe only other suggestion I have is for the Empty Tomb cookies. All the ingredients are symbolic of part of the Passion and Resurrection. They are like meringue, and you leave them in a warm (turned off) oven overnight, and in the morning, they are hollow, like the tomb. Really cool object lesson for little ones. http://www.recipezaar.com/Empty-Tomb-Cookies-220621
God bless,
