Happenings

This should give you some idea of my productivity as of late. Currently, I'm feeling quite pleased with myself for all of the things that I was able to accomplish today. So here's the list: two errands in town (library returns and picture pickups), two loads of laundry (washed, folded, and put away), a non-leftovers meal for supper (baked orange roughy, american fries from scratch, steamed broccoli), and a Denise Austin pregnancy workout. All, if you can believe it, in addition to feeding, caring for, and cleaning after two kids! (I hope it's evident that I'm ripping on myself a little right now.)

A lot of moms would probably do about three times this amount in one day. Lately, though, for me, just the basic taking care of the boys is all the work I can manage in a day! (and sometimes not that easily!) So that's the whole reason for my making such a big deal of what I got done today.

It feels so good to have followed through with exercising again the past two days. It's another thing that makes me feel accomplished and better off for having done it. Because I know how beneficial it is, I feel really guilty when I'm inactive. AND, I do actually enjoy doing it, so when I put it off because I either feel tired or sore or whatever comes to mind, I wind up feeling worse then, too. So it's just better for me all around if I just make up my mind to do it, and then do it!

And it helps, too, that I have a little workout buddy. My four-year-old son asks if I'm going to be doing a workout and if he can do it with me. I have two Denise Austin prenatal workouts, one old (late 80's, early 90's), one new (2000-something). Yesterday he and I did the new one, so I was thinking about doing the old one today, but before I mentioned it, he was requesting to do the one where Denise has a baby in her tummy (the old one).

He's really in tune with pregnancy in general, but also with how the baby's doing, when it's coming out, that it eats what I eat, etc. Monday nights are my one evening of the week to go in to the clinic and work for a couple of hours to meet with couples and do FertilityCare work. Just as I was finishing up and getting ready to come home, I got a phone call from home with him requesting to talk to me. He had a couple of urgent questions for me: was I in the room at the clinic, was the nurse with me, and where was the baby. :) He is definitely on high alert for the baby to be born!

  1. Don't forget to add "making a human being" to your list of things that you got done! If all you did in a day was that, it would be a day well spent!

(And a day like that would wear me out, so you SHOULD be proud!)
