This spring I decided that Cuddlebug needed a little hat for on the cooler, breezier days. Ta-dah! (That's what I love about knitting. You see a need, and, voila! the need is filled.)
This is the same sweater/vest pattern as before, but this one is bigger (12 mos) and in the cooler blue & grey to match his coloring a little better. Plus on this one I attempted my first-ever cable, the aran braid, and was pleased with the result.
This little number snuck her way into this post because she's still yet unfinished! The end result is to be a knitting needle case, but that would require me to find just the right fabric to line it with, ribbon to tie, and then for me to actually assemble it. I've been getting irritated that this hasn't gotten finished yet, so hopefully I'll set my mind on finishing it next.
Also, this was the first felting venture for me. The fiber is a wool/llama mixture, but I wasn't happy with it when I tried the washing machine method. So I immediately brought it upstairs and boiled it in a pot of water and was much happier with it after that.
This is (almost) the latest project that I'd been working on. I say "had" because it's now all taken apart. I was happy with the yarn and the stitching and everything, but it was supposed to be a hat for me and when I tried it on it was way too loose. My little model complained that it was too big on him, too.
I'm giving myself points for ingenuity here. My double pointed needles are bamboo shishkabob sqewers. This is the first time I've done anything other than experiment/significant on dpns.
The real latest knitting project I've been working on is an interesting wrap of sorts. I'm using some yarn that was gifted to me by a friend and I'm basically just fooling around with it right now to see if I'm going to like the combination. BUT, I am pretty set on making that pattern now, one way or the other. Even if the directions themselves leave quite a bit to the imagination! I'm open to improvising, and I've already learned two more new techniques: yarn over and backward loop.
Yes, I'm most definitely a novice, but I like that I'm learning something new with each new project I try!

You are amazing!!! I am still working on dish rags. I see you got your new books shelfs. I can't wait to see them. I think we are coming home in Aug. Your garden looks wonderful. I can't wait to see that too. I hope to call soon. God bless you and all your great work.
