Paraphrasing Adam Duritz

A couple of weeks ago, on a particularly unsavory (but typical) day in late November, the boys and I took a drive to a yarn shop so that I could do some learning and capitalize on some inspiration (Ginny) that I'd been harboring for awhile. For the entirety of the trip I kept thinking, "in November when the weather bothers me." That's exactly how I was feeling and how the weather was (and had been) affecting my mood. Anyway, the aptness of the lyrics made me smile.

Being that this all occurred two days after the three year anniversary of my mother's passing, I really needed those smiles.

*I just ripped out that child-sized scarf this afternoon to make it over again. Overall I was happy with it, but there were a couple holes and I thought that, since Wideawake claimed it, it didn't need to be so wide and possibly, then, a little longer. It was more of an opportunity for practice, anyway, and now on the second go I'm doing ribbing and color stripes to practice those techniques.

  1. Fun!!! Knitting is truly my sanity saver. It's almost sinful in that I find myself thinking about it maybe too much.
