Is it bad to not go visit the cemetary?
I feel like I should go, but I don't like to. So I avoid it.
But now I have a guilty conscience.
Please help.
*Inside information: I am always mindful during Mass and while in church of visiting my mother (and other deceased relatives) as a member of the communion of saints and feel that this is the only really effective way of being with her/them. Does that make it okay that I avoid cemetary visits?

The act of going to a cemetery often serves as visual reminder to pray for our love ones and others that MAY be in purgatory. Some don't need this visual reminder....
ReplyDeleteI don't see this as bad. I don't visit the cemetery although I might if a headstone needed maintaining. All of the memories of a person I loved are in my heart, not in a garden. Everyone remembers differently, everyone grieves differently, everyone prays differently. I'd say you do what suits you best. :)
