Absolute Perfection

This is experienced when snuggling in a warm, comfy bed with your newest little baby cuddled up to you nursing himself to sleep. His free hand gently caressing your face and touching your lips as if to reassure that it's his momma right there next to him, nourishing him and loving him all the way to dreamland.

(And then he wakes up an hour later because his third tooth is coming the rest of the way through. Two and a half hours and some teething tabs later, perfection is repeated.)

On a separate side note, this same certain little baby boy has been introduced to avocado, carrots, and peas. All but the peas were vomited back up and those were a serious gagging close call. I feel really bad but I don't really know what to do other than avoid these foods for the time being and slowly keep introducing new ones until something strikes his fancy. But presently he's sticking to a strict diet of breastmilk. (I'm not entirely upset about it.)

Have you had any babies boycott solid foods?

  1. my 17 month old STILL insists on only eating mushed-up, puree veggies...yikes.

  2. My kids loved plain baby oatmeal - and thank God since I was not a huge milk producer! As long as your baby is thriving, then I wouldn't push any changes :)

  4. I made last night's green beans much soupier and although there was funny face making and gagging, there wasn't any vomit!

Today at lunch he grabbed my apple chunk and started very happily gnawing on it. I had a sneaking suspicion something like this would be the case!
