Honest Scrap

Thank You to Mostly Sunny Days over at http://stevenson-saga.blogspot.com/ for presenting me with the Honest Scrap award!
Here are the ten honest statments that will comprise my acceptance speech:
1. I resolved, long ago (elementary school), on account of being ridiculed by cohorts for my fair skin that I can't wait to be 50 years old. :) This logic comes as a result of my mother's consolation that fair skin is beautiful and that those people who don't burn and are tan (and therefore don't use sunscreen) will age horribly and will look like leather couches when they're old. heh heh heh. Talk about delayed gratification for payback, but, oh, it will be sweet.
2. I have wished to be a much quicker reader.
3. I secretly feel like the nice compliments about our children from old ladies at church are my big rewards.
4. I never feel that eye makeup (save mascara) looks good on me.
5. Skunks aren't the worst smelling things. I'd take that smell over cigarettes, bad exhaust fumes, or heavy chemical/perfume smells any day.
6. I thrive on making lists and then being able to accomplish items and cross them off. It's a great feeling. And who am I kidding, if I didn't make the lists in the first place, I'd forget to do half of the stuff anyway.
7. I love eating and I love trying new foods. So although I'm good at cooking and baking (and enjoy it when I'm not contending with children) I avoid making the extra goodies so I don't eat the extra goodies.
8. My cholesterol test result was 315. It's a good thing that that isn't even close to accurate due to the test being taken 1-during pregnancy and 2-during a nonfasting state.
9. My husband and I (still) both miss our old parish. We had to leave it when we moved here four and a half years ago.
10. Both of my two older boys are running high fevers right now. Tomorrow could be rather messy, so I'm cutting it short tonight in order to try to rest up (at least somewhat adequately) for it.

  1. Thank you for the nod! I'll get to it... eventually. ;)

I also make lists. My problem is, once made, I don't revisit them. LOL

  2. Thanks! I hope to get to this soon. You remember first trimester? I love to have a ready-made topic to work with.

  3. Did I forget to say that I enjoyed reading yours! My daughter told me the other day that she thought skunks smell good. Then the other daughter said that she thought garlic smelled like skunks. Thanks, Maddie.

I totally need lists to remember and/or accomplish anything. My OB jokes that a mom donates 20% of her brain cells to each child that she gives birth to (that means that I'm heading toward 100--yikes). But really, he and his wife have 12 kids. I wonder how she feels about his opinion!?

And above, I failed to insert, "Sorry--I'm tired," after my first trimester question/comment. *sigh* That last 20% of my brain cells are already making their journey away from my brain toward Mini-me.
